The Piazza Beer Garden (7401 Woodmont Ave.) is going for a slightly more analytical feel with its Oktoberfest events.
The outdoor patio restaurant and bar attached to Cesco Osteria will hold four “Beerology 101″ events over the four Wednesdays left in October.
This Wednesday, the topic will be lagers with “brewing connoisseur” Paul-Martin Foss. Foss will lead participants through tastings of Pilsners, American-style Lagers, Marzen/Oktoberfest brews, Bock/Doppelbock and Steam Beer, to name a few.
The cost for each event is $20. You can get access to all four for $60. Each event runs from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
The Oct. 15 tasting will look at wheat and rye beers, the Oct. 22 one will include English Ales and IPAs and the final event will feature dark, Belgian and sour beers.
Participate in all four, and you’ll get a Beerology Certificate of Completion from Piazza.
