Friday

The Big Train will face the Vienna River Dogs on Friday, June 6th at 7:30 at Povich Field and the stands are sure to be packed. The first 750 fans will receive FREE Opening Night T-shirts sponsored by Grossberg Company! Ronald McDonald will also be making his way to Povich Field on this night to throw out a first pitch.

Saturday

The 20th annual Imagination Bethesda, a children’s street festival celebrating children and the arts, is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 10am-3pm. Musical performances and professional children’s entertainers will light up the stage, while hands-on art & craft activities will line the streets along Auburn and Norfolk Avenues in downtown Bethesda.

Time: 10:00 a.m. — 11:30 a.m.

A brass quintet will perform the swinging tunes of Joplin and sparkling music by Handel to celebrate what makes summertime great: sunshine, the beach, ice cream, swimming and more; hosted by acclaimed actress, dancer and storyteller Maria Broom. The Music Box Series is a unique music program for young children ages 6 months to three years old and their families. Each performance features pre-concert activities hosted 30 minutes prior to the show by the BSO and partner organization Ready-at-Five, a non-profit that works to ensure that all Maryland children are ready to learn by age five. The wide range of pre-concert activities will encourage literacy, creative play and musical skills.
