Downtown Bethesda Bank Prepares For Demolition

United Bank at Commerce Lane and Old Georgetown Road is prepped for demolition, Element 28 construction

No, cash won’t start falling from the holes in the ceiling above the ATM drive-thru at the United Bank in downtown Bethesda.

The building is being prepped for demolition to make way for Element 28, the 15-story, 120-unit apartment building from developer Kettler at the corner of Commerce Lane and Old Georgetown Road.

United Bank moved to the former location of Charleston Alexander Diamond Importers in February.
