‘Sewage Issue’ Closes BlackFinn Bethesda Tuesday

BlackFinnBlackFinn is closed Tuesday because of a sewage issue in its dining room, according to general manager Kam Khazai.

The dark lights and locked doors come amid rumors that the popular bar and restaurant in Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle is heading for a permanent closure.

A source told BethesdaNow.com that the restaurant, at 4901 Fairmont Ave., is feeling the financial pinch because of two large apartment construction projects on its block.

The restaurant’s Facebook and Twitter pages have both been taken down.

But Khazai denied there’s any truth to the rumor. Employees contacted by BethesdaNow.com said they have not heard anything about BlackFinn closing.

The restaurant opened in 2007 on one of Woodmont Triangle’s most prominent corners. Owner Paul Derrico could not be reached for comment.
