The National Weather Service revised its snow total estimates to 12-18 inches for Montgomery County. The federal government is closed. So is the Montgomery County government.

WMATA has suspended Metrobus service, which is a strong indication that you should not be driving Thursday. Metrorail is still operating, with all stations open as of 6:15 a.m. Ride On is operating on a very limited schedule. Bethesda Circulator service has been suspended. Capital Bikeshare is closed.

Because of the Snow Emergency, all parking in Montgomery County garages is free, so don’t fret about filling up those meters.

Montgomery County and the State Highway Administration are working around the clock to clear roads. But with snow falling rapidly, there are few, if any, that are clear as of 6:30 a.m. Thursday.
