Weekly Crime Report: Jan. 6 to Jan. 13

Another area bank robbery leads this week’s Bethesda-Chevy Chase area crime report:

A bank robbery occurred at the Bank of America located at 4411 S. Park Avenue in Chevy Chase on Monday, 1/13 at 4:30 p.m. The suspect implied a weapon and obtained property, then fled.

Suspect: B/M, 25-30, 5’7”-5’10”/medium build

It’s the second reported bank robbery in Bethesda or Chevy Chase in 2014. The other happened at a Capitol One near Westfield Montgomery Mall:

A bank robbery occurred at the Capitol One Bank located at 7340 Westlake Terrace in Bethesda on Wednesday, 1/8 at approximately 9:10 a.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: W/M, 6’/heavy build

The rest of the most recent 2nd District crime summary follows.

A theft occurred in the 5400 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda on Friday, 1/10 at approximately 1:45 p.m. The suspect took property from the unknowing victim.

Three thefts from vehicles occurred in the 4100 block of Leland Street in Chevy Chase overnight between Wednesday, 1/8 and Thursday, 1/9. No forced entry; loose valuables such as an iPod and gloves were taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at Luna Apparel located at 7232 Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda on Tuesday, 1/7 at 6:13 a.m. Forced entry; unknown what was taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at Democracy International, 7600 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda sometime overnight between Thursday, 1/9 and Friday, 1/10. Forced entry; property taken.

Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the unit block of Westmoreland Circle in Bethesda on Thursday, 1/9 between 2:15 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. Forced entries, a purse, an iPhone and cash were taken.

A burglary occurred at the Landon School located at 6101 Wilson Lane in Bethesda overnight between Wednesday, 1/8 and Thursday, 1/9. Unknown entry; property taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 8600 block of Split Oak Circle in Bethesda between Wednesday, 1/8 and Monday, 1/13. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.
