Montgomery County Police say anonymous tips led to the arrest of two people accused of stealing a credit card from a Bethesda woman before using it to buy a puppy.
Police arrested Michael Pulliam, 39, of Annapolis last Wednesday in College Park and charged Jennifer Camardi, 29, of an unconfirmed address via a District Court summons. Both Camardi and Pulliam were charged with conspiracy to commit theft, conspiracy to steal another’s credit card and conspiracy to commit fraud via identity theft.
Today (Tuesday) Camardi returned the puppy purchased from a Rockville pet shop with the stolen credit card. It’s a Yorkshire Terrier, three months old at the time of the incident. Police are letting members of the media take pictures and film the dog today at headquarters.
Police say Pulliam and Camardi broke into the car of a 60-year-old woman attending church services at St. Jane Frances de Chantel Catholic Church (9601 Old Georgetown Rd.) on Aug. 11. They allegedly stole her purse and within two hours went to the Just Puppies store in the Twinbrook Shopping Center.
Police say Camardi used a fake license that had her photo but the information of the victim in Bethesda to buy the dog.
Police say both then went to the Nordstrom at Westfield Montgomery Mall to buy clothing. One of the videos police released on Oct. 25 shows the male suspect holding the puppy while buying the clothes. Police said Camardi and Pulliam charged a total of about $4,100 to the victim’s credit card.

Police say they got “numerous anonymous tips” at the Crime Solvers tip line that led to the identification of Camardi and Pulliam.
