Weekly Crime Report: Sept. 16 to Sept. 24

Police say they caught a Virginia woman in the act of stealing from a River Road church:

A theft occurred at St Francis Episcopal Church, located at 10033 River Road in Potomac on Sunday, 9/22 between 10:00 a.m. and 10:50 a.m. The suspect attempted to steal property and was detained.

Arrested: Female, age 40, from Virginia

There was also an alleged early-morning robbery from somebody on Bradley Boulevard:

A robbery occurred in the 4700 block of Bradley Boulevard on Sunday, 9/22 at approximately 1:10 a.m. The suspect forcefully removed property from the victim.

Suspect: B/M, 28-40, 5’6”-5’9”/135-150 lbs.

A commercial burglary occurred at the Valero Gas Station, 3700 University Boulevard in Kensington overnight between Saturday, 9/21 and Sunday, 9/22. Forced entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 4500 block of Westbrook Lane in Kensington between Thursday, 9/19 and Tuesday, 9/24. Forced entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 3500 block of Raymoor Road in Kensington on Saturday, 9/21 between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. No forced entry; property taken.

An incident of graffiti occurred at Kensington Parkway Elementary, 4710 Saul Road in Kensington sometime between Monday, 9/16 and Tuesday, 9/17.

An armed robbery occurred in the 11800 block of Rockville Pike in Rockville on Thursday, 9/19 at approximately 12:40 a.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

A residential burglary occurred in the 4400 block of Cambria Avenue in Garrett Park sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 9/24. Forced entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 4400 block of Cambria Avenue in Garrett Park sometime between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 9/24. Unknown entry; property and vehicle taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 6000 block of Welborn Drive in Bethesda sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. on Monday, 9/23. Forced entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 4900 block of Cumberland Avenue in Chevy Chase between 9:12 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Monday, 9/23. No forced entry; property taken.

A theft occurred at Whole Foods, located at 4420 Willard Avenue in Bethesda on Thursday, 9/19 at approximately 12:30 p.m. The suspect took the victim’s wallet.

Suspect: B/F, 5’9”/160 lbs 

A residential burglary occurred in the 9100 block of Burning Tree Road in Bethesda on Sunday, 9/22 at 12:53 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 9900 block of Fernwood Road in Bethesda on Sunday, 9/22 at approximately 4:15 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 8900 block of Charred Oak Drive in Bethesda on Thursday, 9/19 between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 9600 block of Berman Woods Way in Potomac on Monday, 9/23 at approximately 4:30 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.
