State Highway To Proceed With Jones Bridge Road Project — The State Highway Administration has showed no signs of stopping its BRAC-related road widening project at Jones Bridge Road and Connecticut Avenue. Many residents east of the intersection are unhappy the project — which will mean more lanes to accommodate BRAC traffic — will mean the loss of 90 mature trees and disruption to the neighborhood. Gun Advocates Lose In Federal Court — A federal judge in Baltimore denied temporary restraining orders against Maryland’s new gun laws, which went into effect on Tuesday. The judge faulted the gun advocates for waiting until last week to challenge the law, which was signed in May. A NRA lobbyist said the fight over the state’s gun laws isn’t over yet. Developer Gets $121.6 Million For 8300 Wisconsin — StonebridgeCarras recently got $121.6 million in financing for the development and construction of its nine-story 8300 Wisconsin apartment building. Excavation work continues on the project, which will house a Harris Teeter on the ground floor. [Mortgage Orb]
