Flu shots will be available from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Chevy Chase Acura (7725 Wisconsin Ave.) and from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the YMCA Bethesda-Chevy Chase (9401 Old Georgetown Rd.).

No appointment is necessary and only those 18 or older can receive a shot. Shots cost $25 in cash, check or major credit cards and the hospital can not bill Medicare/Medicaid at the clinics. Receipts will be available for insurance purposes.

The Oct. 5 clinic will be part of the annual Come Back to Bethesda event, which will be taking place near the annual Taste of Bethesda. Look for the Suburban Hospital table.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends a yearly flu shot for everyone six months old or older. The flu season runs from October to May and the CDC estimates that between five and 20 percent of Americans get the virus each year.
