Weekly Crime Report: Aug. 19 to Aug. 27

The dog days of August are traditionally a slow time, as people take vacations and some time off before the start of school.

Aug. 19 to Aug. 27 was apparently a slow time for criminals too, at least according to the most recent Bethesda area crime summary:

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in the Friendship Heights area. All but one vehicle were entered by force. Incidents occurred on The Hills Plaza, Park Avenue, Willard Avenue, and Cortland Road between Monday, 8/19 and Sunday, 8/24.

A residential burglary occurred in the 9000 block of Ewing Drive in Bethesda on Monday, 8/26 between 11:00 a.m. and 6:50 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

A theft occurred at 7101 Democracy Boulevard in Potomac on Thursday, 8/22 between 12:20 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. The suspect obtained the victim’s wallet.

A theft occurred at a construction site located in the 9700 block of Montauk Avenue in Bethesda overnight between Monday, 8/19 and Tuesday, 8/20. Property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 9500 block of Accord Drive in Rockville on Tuesday, 8/27 between 1:00 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.
