Weekly Crime Report: Aug 12 to Aug. 20

Two commercial burglaries in downtown Bethesda lead off the latest crime summary from Montgomery County Police:

A commercial burglary occurred at Chaos Salon, 4939 Cordell Avenue in Bethesda on Wednesday, 8/21 at 12:07 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.

A commercial burglary occurred in the 7900 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda overnight from Wednesday, 8/14 to Thursday, 8/15. Unknown entry; property taken.

There was also the bank robbery at the PNC Bank in Wildwood Shopping Center. Police believe the same man robbed a bank a week later in Gaithersburg:

A bank robbery occurred at PNC Bank, 10211 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda on Friday, 8/16 at approximately 12:30 p.m.

And there has been no arrest in the indecent exposure incident at the Kensington Park Library that reportedly involved a man masturbating in plain sight:

An indecent exposure occurred at the County Library located at 4201 Knowles Avenue in Bethesda on Monday, 8/19 at approximately 12:30 p.m.

Suspect: B/M, 6’2”, beard

A residential burglary occurred in the 3800 block of Bradley Lane in Bethesda on Friday, 8/16 at approximately 7:30 a.m. Unknown entry; unknown what was taken.

Arrested: Male, age 40, of no fixed address

A residential burglary occurred in the 8000 block of Ellingson Drive in Chevy Chase sometime overnight between Monday, 8/12 and Tuesday, 8/13. Property was taken from an open garage.

A residential burglary occurred in the 4600 block of Coachway Drive in North Bethesda between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Friday, 8/16. No forced entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 5400 block of Westbard Avenue in Bethesda on Monday, 8/12 between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Forced entry; nothing taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 6300 block of Massachusetts Avenue in Bethesda sometime between 8/17 and 8/19. No forced entry; nothing taken.

Four thefts from vehicles occurred during daytime/afternoon hours on four separate days in Friendship Heights, each with forced entry:

Monday, 8/12; 2:00 p.m.; 1530 Willard Ave & N Park Ave.; Laptop stolen
Wednesday, 8/14; 7:00 p.m.-11:30 p.m.; 5311 Friendship Blvd.; Briefcase, iPad and credit cards
Friday 8/16; 7:30-7:40 p.m.; 5311 Friendship Blvd.; Bag w/ laptop and books stolen
Monday 8/19; 7:00 a.m.-4:15 p.m.; 4710 Willard Ave.; Backpack and charger stolen

A residential burglary occurred in the 11900 block of Castlegate Court in North Bethesda on Friday, 8/16 between 1:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Property was taken from an open garage.
