Weekly Crime Report: July 29 to Aug. 6

Police reported two more commercial burglaries in a section of White Flint office buildings that have been hit hard by burglaries this year:

Two commercial burglaries occurred in the 5500 block of Security Lane in North Bethesda between Friday, 8/2 and Monday, 8/5. Forced entry; property taken.

There’s also the ongoing burglary case at Bethesda Country Club, where police said three teenagers or young men broke into the pro shop, stole merchandise and food and then went on a joyride using a golf cart:

A commercial burglary occurred at the Bethesda County Club, 7601 Bradley Boulevard in Bethesda during the early morning hours of Thursday, 8/1. Forced entry; property taken.

A vehicle theft occurred overnight between Monday, 7/29 and Tuesday, 7/30 in the 2400 block of Colston Drive in Chevy Chase.

A residential burglary occurred in the 4600 block of West Virginia Avenue in Bethesda on Tuesday, 7/30 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. No forced entry; property taken.

Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the 4500 block of Chestnut Street in Bethesda between Wednesday, 7/31 and Friday, 8/2. Vehicles were unlocked; electronics were taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 4300 block of Westbrook Lane in Kensington sometime between 7/30 and 8/6. No forced entry; unknown if anything was taken.

An aggravated assault occurred at the Washington Post Warehouse, 4948 Boiling Brook Parkway in Rockville on Saturday, 8/3 at approximately 3:20 a.m. The suspect is known to the victim.

A burglary occurred at Westbrook Elementary School, 5110 Allen Terrace in Bethesda sometime between Wednesday, 7/31 and Thursday, 8/1. Unknown entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 4900 block of Allen Road in Bethesda on Wednesday, 7/31 between 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 5200 block of Worthington Drive in Bethesda overnight between Tuesday, 8/6 and Wednesday, 8/7. Property was taken from an open garage.

Four thefts from vehicles occurred this week, three in the Friendship Heights area and the fourth in the Glen Echo area. All of the vehicles were found with forced entry. Two incidents occurred during overnight hours and two occurred during the afternoon/evening hours. Purses and electronics (laptops & GPS units) were the primary items targeted.

A residential burglary occurred on Friday, 8/2 in the 9300 block of Burning Tree Road in Bethesda sometime between 8:15 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred on Friday, 8/2 in the 5600 block of Johnson Avenue in Bethesda between 8:30 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. No forced entry; property taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 4900 block of Battery Lane in Bethesda on Monday, 8/5 between 9:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.
