New MCPS Teachers Go Through Orientation — The growing Montgomery County Public School system will have more than 750 new teachers for the 2013-2014 school year. Many of them are participating in the New Educator Orientation (NEO) program this week. [MCPS]

Leggett Elected President of County Executives of America — County Executive Isiah Leggett (D) will serve a year as president of the organization, which consists of more than 700 county or city-county governments in 45 states. The group advocates for the executive form of government in D.C.
