Residents, police officers, firefighters, and members of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad gathered on Tuesday in Chevy Chase Village to celebrate National Night Out.
The annual event was created to get residents and cops together in a community setting as a way to increase crime prevention.
Members of the Chevy Chase Village Police Department cooked hot dogs. First responders from the Rescue Squad showed off an ambulance, firefighters from Station 6 on Wisconsin Avenue displayed a fire truck and K9 officers from Montgomery County Police let people pet their dogs.
A number of communities throughout Montgomery County hosted similar events.
