Chevy Chase resident Kara Manos was seconds away from being Drybar customer 1,111,111, which would have won her free blowouts for life at the Bethesda Row shop.
So the California-based blow dry only salon decided to award Manos, who happens to write an area beauty blog called Politics of Pretty, with free blowouts for a year for her near-perfect timing.
Drybar owner Alli Webb called Manos to let her know she’d get something for being so close. A customer at Drybar’s Tribeca location in New York City became the 1,111,111th customer at 7:44 p.m. on Friday, June 28.
Drybar was tracking every customer that night, Webb said. Manos checked out seconds before the magic number came up.
Drybar opened in October at 4840 Bethesda Ave. It’s one of 28 locations nationwide.
