WASHINGTON – A man has been arrested after an indecent exposure incident in Silver Spring Sunday night.
Montgomery County police arrested Jose Salvador Castro, 29, and charged him with one count of indecent exposure.
Police say a 15-year-old girl approached an officer Sunday night around 8:30 p.m. and said she had been the victim of indecent exposure. After investigating the incident, police say she was sitting at a Metro bus stop at the corner of University Boulevard West and Colesville Road when a man sitting near to her began moving closer to her on the bench.
When he was directly beside her, police say the victim noticed his zipper was down and he was exposing himself to her. The victim ran away and found a police officer, who was nearby in a marked police cruiser. After the victim described the suspect, officials say police found him walking down Lanark Way at Lorain Avenue, about four blocks away from the bus stop.
Castro is being held on a $2,600 bond.
