Weekly Crime Report: Jan. 28 to Feb. 5

Police say three downtown offices were burglarized earlier this month and they have scant info on a suspect in one of the incidents:

A commercial office burglary occurred at 7735 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda on Friday, 2/1 between 5:45 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.  Forced entry; property taken.

Suspect: B/M, black clothing, gloves.

Two commercial office burglaries occurred at 7272 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda overnight from Monday, 2/4 to Tuesday, 2/5.  Two office suites were entered forcibly; property taken.

The rest of the most recent Bethesda District crime summary is after the jump. It includes a spate of residential and attempted vehicle thefts from last week one one Chevy Chase street.

Eight thefts from vehicles were reported this week in this Bethesda beat, all occurring during the overnight hours.  Four of the events involved theft of vehicle parts.  Those vehicles, which were parked in the 5100 block of Westbard Avenue, were found with forced entry.  The other four incidents occurred in other areas of the beat and involved unforced entries and theft of loose property (wallet and laptop).

A commercial office burglary occurred at 11140 Rockville Pike, Rockville overnight from Monday, 1/28 to Tuesday, 1/29.  Forced entry; property taken.

A theft occurred in the 4300 block of Elm Street, Chevy Chase on Tuesday, 1/29 at approximately 2:30 p.m.  An unknown suspect removed property from the victim.

Two thefts from vehicles occurred during the evening hours on Thursday, 1/31.  Entry was forced on two different vehicles parked in commercial lots in the 4900 and 5200 blocks of Nicholson Lane, Rockville.  Loose items left inside were taken, including purses, briefcases and a cell phone.

A residential burglary occurred in the 9500 block of Cable Drive, Kensington on Saturday, 2/2 at 4:35 p.m.  Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 3800 block of Village Park Drive, Chevy Chase at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Monday, 2/4.  Forced entry; property taken.

An attempted theft from a vehicle occurred in the 3800 block of Village Park Drive, Chevy Chase during the early morning hours on Monday, 2/4.  No entry was gained.

A residential burglary occurred in the 3800 block of Village Park Drive, Chevy Chase on Monday, 2/4 at 2:30 a.m.  Forced entry; property taken.
