A string of iPod and GPS thefts from cars hit Bethesda to open up December, most from locked cars and one in which the object was out of sight in a trunk. From the Chevy Chase/Friendship Heights area:
Three thefts from vehicles were reported this week in this Bethesda beat. Entry methods varied. A vehicle parked in the 6400 block of Goldsboro Road had forced entry and tools were taken; a vehicle parked in the 4600 block of Western Avenue also had forced entry and an iPod and GPS were taken; and an iPod was taken out of a trunk of a vehicle in the 4400 block of Willard Avenue.

Three thefts from vehicles occurred in this Chevy Chase beat — one on Woodbine Street involving an unlocked vehicle and two in the Rosemary Hills area involving vehicles entered via broken windows. Wallets, GPS units, and cash were taken.
Two thefts from vehicles occurred overnight from Monday, 12/3 to Tuesday, 12/4 in this Bethesda beat. Forced entry, vehicle parts and GPS unit were taken.
A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 10400 block of Rockville Pike, North Bethesda overnight from Tuesday, 12/4 to Wednesday, 12/5. Forced entry; vehicle parts taken.
Two thefts from vehicles were reported this week at Montgomery Mall, 7101 Democracy Boulevard, Bethesda. On Saturday, 12/8 at approximately 11:45 a.m. entry was forced and an iPad and charger were removed. On Friday, 12/7 between 1:45 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., bags of cosmetics and clothing were taken from an unsecured vehicle.
A residential garage burglary occurred in the 6300 block of Berkshire Drive, Bethesda sometime between Friday, 12/7 and Saturday, 12/8. Unforced entry; property taken.
Graffiti was painted on the office building at 4709 Chase Avenue, Bethesda on Saturday, 12/8 between 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
