WASHINGTON - Police have arrested a suspect in a sexual assault that occurred Dec. 7 in Gaithersburg.
DNA evidence collected from the crime led to a match in the Maryland Combined DNA Index system, leading police to arrest and charge Christopher Johnson, 21, of Montgomery Village.
Police say Johnson followed the 28-year-old female victim into the laundry room at an apartment building in the 700 block of Quince Orchard Boulevard on the morning of Dec. 7.
Once inside the laundry room, he showed a knife and sexually assaulted her.
Johnson also took personal property from the victim.
He was arrested Feb. 7 and charged with first degree assault, first degree sex offense and armed robbery.
Johnson is being held without bond.
