Brantley leaves game with sore back

TORONTO (AP) — Cleveland Indians outfielder Michael Brantley left Wednesday night’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays in the fifth inning with a sore back.

Brantley went 1 for 3 with a double and scored a run before leaving with tightness in the middle of his back.

Nyjer Morgan replaced Brantley in left field in the bottom of the fifth, but wasn’t in the game for long, suffering a sprained right knee in his one inning of defense. Jose Ramirez pinch hit for Morgan in the sixth.

Brantley saw an 11-game hitting streak end when he went 0 for 4 in Cleveland’s 5-4 loss to Toronto on Tuesday. He’s batting .279 with seven home runs and 30 RBIs.
