CHICAGO (AP) -- The Chicago White Sox will host Major League Baseball's seventh annual Civil Rights Game on Aug. 24 against the Texas Rangers.
The showcase game debuted with exhibitions in Memphis in 2007 and 2008 followed by regular-season games in Cincinnati (2009-10) and Atlanta (2011-12).
Other events are planned before the game, including MLB's annual Beacon Awards saluting individuals whose lives have been emblematic of the spirit of the civil rights movement.
