OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Denver is visiting Oakland in this evening's NFL game. The Broncos have won seven straight and wrapped up the AFC West championship. Things haven't gone as well for the Raiders this season as they have lost five in a row and have a record of 3-9.

CINCINNATI (AP) -- The Bengals have signed kicker Josh Brown. He replaces the injured Mike Nugent, who hurt his right calf and didn't practice Wednesday. Brown kicked for the Jets in the preseason before being released on Aug. 26.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The Phillies and Twins have pulled off a trade. In the deal the Phillies acquired outfielder Ben Revere for right-handers Vance Worley and Trevor May. The 24-year-old Revere, who is a left-handed batter, hit .294 with 40 stolen bases in 124 games last season.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Former Wisconsin football coach Barry Alvarez, who serves as the school's athletic director, is headed back to the sidelines. With the departure of coach Bret Bielema (BEE'-leh-mah) for Arkansas earlier this week, Alvarez was chosen to coach the Badgers in the upcoming Rose Bowl. In 16 seasons Alvarez racked up a record of 118-73-4 and three wins in the Rose Bowl.

UNDATED (AP) -- Two games make up the NBA schedule this evening. There's a good matchup in Miami as the Heat play host to the Knicks. The second game is being played in Phoenix with the Suns entertaining the Mavericks.
