Roethlisberer is banged up...Robbins fined for hit on Cutler...Cy Youngs to be passed out

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (RAWTH'-lihs-bur-gur) doesn't know when he'll be back from a sprained right shoulder and dislocated rib suffered in Sunday's win over Kansas City. He's been ruled out of this week's showdown game with AFC North leader Baltimore while he recovers. Doctors are concerned about the rib, which could puncture his aorta is jostled around.

HOUSTON (AP) -- Houston Texans linebacker Tim Dobbins has been fined $30,000 for a helmet-to-helmet hit that gave Chicago's Jay Cutler a concussion. The hit came in the second quarter of Houston's 13-6 win on Sunday night when Dobbins hit a scrambling Cutler after he threw a pass.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -- The Chicago Bears still don't know if quarterback Jay Cutler will be available for Monday night's showdown with San Francisco after he suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to Houston. Coach Lovie Smith said Cutler is improving but that if he's not ready, the Bears have a solid backup in Jason Campbell.

UNDATED (AP) -- Major league strikeout leader Justin Verlander of the Tigers is joined by the Angels Jered Weaver and Tampa Bay's David Price as the finalists for the American League Cy Young award which will be handed out later today. The National League finalists are Washington's Gio Gonzalez, R.A. Dickey of the Mets and the Dodgers Clayton Kershaw who won in 2011.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Left-handed reliever Jeremy Affeldt has a new three-year, $18 million contract to stay with the World Series champ San Francisco Giants. The 33-year-old went 1-2 with a 2.70 ERA in 67 appearances covering 63 1-3 innings this season.
