CHICAGO (AP) -- Luol Deng (LOO'-ul dehng) scored 15 of his 23 points in the second half to lead the Chicago Bulls to a 99-93 win over Orlando in the Magic's first loss of the season. Joakim Noah (JOH'-keem NOH'-ah) had 20 points, nine rebounds and five blocks for Chicago

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Russell Westbrook shrugged off a sore shoulder to score 19 points and the Oklahoma City Thunder cruised past the Toronto Raptors 108-88. Wearing a black padded sleeve to protect his bruised left shoulder, Westbrook held Toronto's leading scorer, Kyle Lowry, to two points on 1-of-4 shooting before Lowry left in the second quarter with a sprained ankle.

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- There was a college football game involving a team ranked in the AP Top-25 Tuesday night. Jahwan Edwards scored untouched on a 15-yard run around left end with 1:43 left to give Ball State to a 34-27 victory over No. 23 Toledo, ending the Rockets' eight-game winning streak.

UNDATED (AP) -- Yu Darvish decided that he won't pitch for his native Japan in the World Baseball Classic next spring, and will instead focus on preparing for his second season in the major leagues. The Texas Rangers right-hander went 16(equals)9 with a 3.90 ERA and 221 strikeouts in 191 and a-third innings last season.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- No. 1 Indiana will open its season Friday night without two key freshmen players. On Tuesday, the NCAA suspended 6-foot-8 forward Hanner Mosquera-Perea and 7-foot center Peter Jurkin for the first nine games this season and will require them to repay a portion of the impermissible benefits they received to a charity of their choice.
