3 men killed in Md. crash to be laid to rest

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Three men killed in a mid-air collision between a helicopter and an airplane in Maryland will be laid to rest this week.

The funeral for 29-year-old Christopher Parsons of Westminster, Maryland, will be held Tuesday in Fletcher, Pennsylvania, with visitation on Monday. Visitation for 47-year-old William Jenkins of Morrison, Colorado, is Wednesday in Durst, Pennsylvania. Services are private.

Services for 35-year-old Breandan McFawn of Cumberland, Maryland also are private.

Obituaries say both McFawn and Jenkins were married fathers of two.

Parsons’ obituary describes him as “the best husband ever,” and says the helicopter flight instructor served three tours in Iraq for the U.S. Marine Corps.

All three were killed Thursday when the helicopter they were in collided with an airplane near the Frederick Municipal Airport. The cause is under investigation.
