Dog stolen during Greenbelt apartment break-in found

WASHINGTON — A 10-year-old dog stolen during a Prince George’s County apartment break-in last week has been found.

Police say Arwyn, the 10-year-old dog, was found walking the streets of Calvert County, Maryland, after she went missing last Wednesday during a break-in at a Greenbelt apartment.

A suspect broke into an apartment in the 7000 block of Hanover Parkway some time between 10:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Wednesday and stole Arwyn, according to police.

The suspect also took a diamond ring, a laptop and a Kindle Fire.

A tip from a good Samaritan led the owner to find Arwyn, police said in a release Monday.

“She was a long way from home, but we are very happy to report that she’s been found in good health,” police said in the release.

Investigators are still working to identify the suspects involved.
