Police: Arrest made of man who robbed Bethesda 7-Eleven

Police said Ricardo Oneil Brooks, 27, of the 18700 block of Pier Point Place was arrested on Sept. 12 by Howard County Police after they responded to an armed robbery at an Ellicott City CVS. Police said a search warrant led to evidence connecting him to the Aug. 27 Glen Echo armed robbery, plus six others in virtually all corners of Montgomery County.

Major Crimes detectives found that Brooks would wait to enter the stores until there were few or no customers, police said Tuesday.

Police said Brooks would then approach an employee, show a handgun and demand money before taking bills, coins and in some cases cigarettes.

Montgomery County Police charged Brooks with armed robberies in seven incidents from Aug. 1 to Sept. 8, including a 7-Eleven armed robbery on Aug. 1 in Gaithersburg, a 7-Eleven armed robbery on Aug. 8 in Cloverly and a CVS armed robbery on Aug. 28 in Cabin John Mall — a day after Brooks is alleged to have robbed the Glen Echo 7-Eleven.

Police said Brooks is also a suspect in two Carroll County cases and one Frederick County case. He’s currently being held in Howard County.
