MIDDLETOWN, Md. (AP) — Several neighbors of a Middletown day care center are asking the Town Council to make the place quiet down.
Owner Hebba Hassanein (HEB’-ah HASS’-ah-nen) denied on Tuesday that the 60 children enrolled at the Valley School are excessively loud. She says she’s willing to work with the town and her neighbors to address the complaints they made at a Town Council meeting Monday.
Janet Weir says she didn’t’ know before the school opened in February that it would offer before- and after-school programs for children up to age 12. She thought it was going to be a preschool.
Travis Warren says the school should erect a fence to buffer noise from the playground.
Hassanein says there are never more than 20 children playing outside at one time.
