Ex-soccer coach pleads guilty to sex solicitation

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — A former youth league soccer coach has pleaded guilty to sexual solicitation of a minor after, prosecutors say, he arranged to meet a teenage girl at her home when her parents were away.

Forty-two-year-old John Hejduk of Cascade entered the plea Thursday in Washington County Circuit Court. Hejduk was an assistant soccer coach with a youth league in Frederick County.

Prosecutors say on Feb. 5, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a report that Hejduk had given the girl alcohol. Authorities say Hejduk had coached the girl in soccer.

Prosecutors say Hejduk had been messaging her for weeks.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports (http://bit.ly/1qiNIMF) that investigators posed as the girl and arranged a meeting. Hejduk went to the girl’s home, where deputies met him.

Sentencing is set for Oct. 20.
