Dead man found on Prince George’s County trail

WASHINGTON — The Prince George’s County Police and Maryland-National Capital Park Police departments have launched a joint investigation into the death of a man they found along a section of the Anacostia River Trail in Cottage City, Maryland.

On Saturday morning, police officers responded to a section of the trail to investigate the report of an unconscious man lying on the ground. When officers arrived, they found the man’s body with apparent trauma to his upper body.

Detectives are working to identify the victim, the suspect or suspects, and establish a motive.
