Superintendent Dance named to commission

TOWSON, Md. (AP) — President Barack Obama has announced his intention to appoint Baltimore County Schools Superintendent S. Dallas Dance to the president’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for African Americans.

The White House made the announcement on Thursday.

Dance has been superintendent in Baltimore county since 2012. He was previously chief school officer for the Houston Independent School District from 2010 to2012.
