Hagerstown bike store closing after 40 years

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — A Hagerstown bicycle shop is closing after 40 years in business.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown (http://bit.ly/1nWhOc7 ) reports Hub City Cycles began liquidating its inventory on Thursday, with discounts of 20 to 50 percent.

The store originally opened in 1974. Its current owner, Mike Mittel, says he was the second employee with the store. He purchased the store in 1978 and the building in 1980.

Mittel says he’s closing the shop to spend time with his family, including traveling with his wife.
