Dead woman in College Park identified

WASHINGTON — Prince George’s County police have identified the dead woman found at a Ramada Inn in College Park on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the department issued a release identifying the woman as Catina Cortes, 25, of Far Rockaway, N.Y. County police thought initially that the woman was in her 30s.

At 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, a motel employee said she found a dead body in a second- floor room at the Ramada Inn. Cortes died from an apparent gunshot wound.

Shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday, the Prince George’s County police announced that they are considering the death a homicide.

A reward of up to $25,000 is offered to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
