Wreck sends car into Montgomery Village pond

WASHINGTON — A two-car accident in Montgomery Village on Thursday evening ended with one car crashing into a tree and the other into a shallow pond.

No one was seriously injured in the wreck just off East Village Avenue near the Lake Marion Community Center, but two adults, the drivers of each vehicle, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to Pete Piringer with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.

Three people in the submerged car got out into the water and are okay.
