Police identify 3 killed in Timonium crash

TIMONIUM, Md. (AP) — Maryland State Police have identified three men killed when their car left the ramp between Interstates 83 and 695 near Timonium and hit a tree.

Troopers said Wednesday that the victims were 23-year-old Vignesh Ashokan, 24-year-old Sharath Sudershanam, and 25-year-old Moka Mallikarjun. Authorities said the three were roommates in Fairfax, Virginia.

On Tuesday, police found a passenger car that was broken into several pieces and three people who were dead. The vehicle was in a heavily wooded area about 300 feet from the road.

Troopers say the three men had left the home in of friends in Cockeysville early Sunday and were traveling back to their apartment when the crash occurred. A friend in Fairfax reported the three missing.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
