TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- Officials say the truck that crashed into a Baltimore-area television station belonged to a landscaping company and was stolen from a work site less than 5 miles from the scene.
Baltimore County police say the truck was stolen around noon Tuesday, around the same time that WMAR-TV employees reported that someone claiming to be God was trying to get inside the building. Shortly after, the truck slammed into the lobby of the station. No injuries were reported. Officials said late Tuesday afternoon that a suspect had been taken into custody.
Jeff Schwartz, president of Ashton Manor Environmental, said in a statement that the truck was stolen from a site on the Baltimore Beltway in Towson.
Schwartz says no employees were injured when the truck was stolen, and the company is cooperating with police.
