BALTIMORE (AP) -- Two more former Maryland correctional officers have been sentenced to federal prison for conspiring in the 2008 beating of an inmate at Roxbury Correctional Institution near Hagerstown.
Ryan Lohr and Dustin Norris were sentenced Thursday in Baltimore. They bring to six the number of defendants sentenced for federal offenses. Eight more await sentencing.
Norris received a 15-month prison sentence. Norris acknowledged he helped beat inmate Kenneth Davis as punishment for punching a guard, and then lied to investigators about it.
Lohr was sentenced to one year in prison. Lohr acknowledged he opened the cell door so others could beat Davis. Lohr also participated in the cover-up.
Davis suffered a broken nose, back and ribs from being beaten by officers on three successive shifts.
