ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) -- A 20-year-old Ellicott City man has pleaded guilty to stabbing his girlfriend's father to death.
Jason Bulmer pleaded guilty Friday to first-degree murder in Howard County Circuit Court, admitting to killing 58-year-old Dennis Lane in May. As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors dropped other charges and will recommend life with the possibility of parole.
Lane's daughter, 15-year-old Morgan Arnold, also faces charges in the slaying. Prosecutors say the couple plotted online for months and Bulmer told police that Arnold wanted her father dead, "because she was sick of him."
Prosecutors say Bulmer had a knife when he slipped into Lane's Ellicott City home through a door Arnold left unlocked. When Lane entered Arnold's room, prosecutors say Bulmer stabbed him multiple times, waking Lane's fiancee. They were arrested that night.
