Friday - 2/14/2014, 1:11pm  ET

FROSTBURG, Md. -- The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office says one person is dead in a fire at a home rented to college students in Frostburg.

The agency says three other occupants of the home near Frostburg State University either escaped or weren't home when the fire broke out early Friday morning.

The fire marshal's office says it hasn't confirmed the victim's identity or whether that person was a Frostburg State student.

The victim's body will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for identification and an autopsy.

The fire marshal's office says the fire was reported around 5 a.m. at a two-story, single-family home on Bowery Street.

The agency says the home is a complete loss, with partial collapse of the second floor into the first floor.
