Baltimore County police shoot, wound suspect

PIKESVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Baltimore County police are investigating an incident near Pikesville where two officers shot a suspect.

Police were called to the 3700 block of Old Milford Mill Road early Sunday for a report of a woman screaming. Officers found a suspect armed with a knife and trying to attack a woman. Police say the suspect refused to comply with officers' commands.

Police say the officers used stun guns, pepper spray and batons, trying to take the suspect into custody. But the suspect fled and got into a vehicle. Police say the suspect then tried to strike the officers with the vehicle.

Two officers fired their guns, striking the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody after a brief chase and was taken to a hospital.

Police are not identifying the suspect.
