JARRETTSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Harford County officials say a man was killed when the roof of a barn he was working on collapsed.
It happened Wednesday afternoon on Furnace Road in Jarrettsville. The county sheriff's office says 32-year-old Daniel Dixon of Port Deposit was working in the hayloft, when for unknown reasons the roof shifted and collapsed to the floor of the loft. Officials say Dixon was trapped and his co-workers tried to free him, but they were not successful.
The sheriff's office says emergency workers responded and pronounced Dixon dead. His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
The Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident.
