WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- Carroll County has opened its cold weather shelter for the season.

The free shelter provides a hot meal, shower, laundry facilities and a warm place to sleep to local adults without a place to go. The shelter will be open every evening through March 30. Guests can begin arriving at the shelter at 7 p.m. and stay for the next 12 hours.

The cold weather shelter is run by the Human Services Programs of Carroll County with the help of volunteers.
