EL PASO, Texas (AP) -- The ringleader of a Baltimore-based group that forced women into prostitution in West Texas has been sentenced to 17½ years in federal prison.

Allen Wiggins had pleaded guilty in August to conspiring to commit human trafficking and to transport women for prostitution.

Wiggins, who also was known as "Alarcon Tha Don," led a prostitution scheme that between 2009 and 2011 would use links to the music industry to lure women and force them to work as strippers or prostitutes.

Wiggins, who is 45, and other nine defendants have been convicted and sentenced in the case.

Wiggins was CEO of 424 records, 1 Team 1 Family Entertainment and other media producing ventures in the Baltimore area.
