BALTIMORE (AP) - Maryland's State Highway Administration says it is creating a temporary park in a Baltimore parking space.
The State Highway Administration says that on Friday it will turn a parking spot at the corner of Calvert and Monument streets into a park. The space is adjacent to the State Highway Administration's headquarters. Volunteers will set up a display in the space that shows how storm water runoff can be filtered before being discharged into the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.
The State Highway Administration says the temporary park is part of Park(ing) Day, a worldwide event where parking spaces are transformed into temporary public parks. The park will be taken down and the spot cleaned beginning at 3 p.m. It returns to being a parking spot after that.
