UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A state delegate from Prince George's County says he was beaten and robbed after he offered to give a group of young men a ride to a home in Upper Marlboro.

Democratic Del. Darren Swain tells WRC-TV (http://tinyurl.com/m2sm3rg ) that his car, wallet and cell phones were taken early Sunday morning.

One person has been arrested in the case. Court documents show 19-year-old Keion Naylor is being held on charges including assault and theft.

Swain says he picked up the young men at a gas station after they asked for a ride. After driving to a home in Upper Marlboro, he says he asked to use a bathroom. That's when he was attacked. Swain says he's physically OK and that his car and other property were recovered.
