Fort Meade commander to leave after 2 years

FORT MEADE, Md. - The commander of Fort Meade near Baltimore is getting ready to leave after two years.

The Capital of Annapolis ( ) reports Col. Edward Rothstein assumed his command in 2011 and will end his tenure Aug. 8.

He'll be replaced by Col. Brian P. Foley, commander of the 50th Signal Battalion from Fort Bragg, N.C.

Before assuming command of Fort Meade, Rothstein had served in Afghanistan as chief of intelligence operations for the International Security Assistance Force.
