Blocked roads, downed trees in St. Mary's County

Thursday - 6/13/2013, 6:31pm  ET

LEONARDTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Officials in southern Maryland are dealing with reports of blocked roads and trees that have fallen on houses.

Bob Kelly, director of emergency services in St. Mary's County, says volunteer firefighters are in the process of clearing fallen trees.

He says there are no reports of injuries. Though sirens sounded advising residents to seek shelter, there are no reports of any tornado touching down in the county.

Kelly says most of the problems are concentrated in the central part of the country, from Leonardtown to northern California.
