FLINTSTONE, Md. (AP) -- Maryland officials say Rocky Gap Casino Resort's revenue topped $700,000 during its first 10 days.
The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission reports that the casino made $776,133 after opening May 22. More than $600,000 was from slots.
Allegany County Commission President Michael McKay tells the Cumberland Times-News (http://bit.ly/13C8FbV) that it's too early to think about potential revenue to the county.
State officials say combined revenue from the state's four casinos in May was more than $69 million. A comparison of revenue in May at Hollywood Casino Perryville and Casino at Ocean Downs to a year earlier shows an 8 percent decline, but the addition of Maryland Live Casino in June 2012 and Rocky Gap Casino Resort last month adds a year-to year benefit of more than $36 million.
