Tuesday - 6/4/2013, 4:38pm  ET

MIDDLETOWN, Del. (AP) -- Delaware State Police have arrested a man in a home invasion after the victim's relative followed a suspect after the crime.

It happened Monday in Middletown. Troopers say a woman arrived home and was confronted by a man armed with a knife in her bedroom.

Police say the man took money and jewelry from her and left. A relative arrived and the woman told him about the crime. The man realized he had passed the suspect and got in his car to find him.

Troopers say the man saw the suspect get into a truck and followed him. Police say the truck stopped, the suspect got out, walked to the car and punched the relative several times.

Twenty-seven-year-old Timothy Martin of Galena, Md. has been charged with robbery and assault.
